65-Inch TV with Soundbar and Hidden Outlet on Drywall Fireplace in Dallas, GA

A Dallas, GA homeowner wanted a fully finished look on the drywall fireplace feature wall in their living room: a 65-inch LG mounted flat above the linear electric fireplace, a soundbar mounted on the wall directly beneath it, and absolutely no visible cords. We added a new recessed outlet behind the TV and installed a low-voltage concealment box so power and HDMI runs disappear inside the wall.

The 65-inch LG was centered on the drywall chimney breast above the linear electric fireplace using a low-profile fixed mount, keeping the panel tight to the wall so it reads as part of the built-out feature. The soundbar was wall-mounted on its own bracket directly below the screen and perfectly centered to the TV, floating above the firebox rather than sitting on a shelf. A new recessed receptacle was installed behind the TV so the power brick and plug sit inside the wall plane, and a paired low-voltage concealment box carries HDMI and soundbar cabling down through the stud bay to a second outlet location below.

Studs were mapped across the feature wall before layout so the mount and the soundbar bracket could both be lag-bolted into framing rather than relying on drywall anchors. The recessed outlet was cut in and wired to code with a fished in-wall run, and the low-voltage concealment box was placed in the adjacent stud bay so power and signal cables stay separated per code. Clearance above the electric firebox was measured before setting the mount height, and both the TV plate and the soundbar bracket were laser-leveled to each other so the two components line up exactly. Everything was load-tested and cable-dressed inside the wall before the plates went on.
