Installation Details
The 70-inch TV was centered on the tall tile feature wall above the linear electric fireplace, set at a comfortable 56-inch screen-center height that aligned with the room's seated sightlines. A low-profile fixed bracket was used to keep the panel tight to the textured tile and preserve the architectural feature. The soundbar was independently bracketed approximately 14 inches above the TV, leaving generous clearance from the fireplace heat zone below. All HDMI and power cables were routed inside the wall chase behind the tile and exited at a recessed in-wall power kit positioned behind the TV's footprint, leaving the entire feature wall completely cable-free from every angle.
Professional Techniques Used
Drilling porcelain tile cleanly without cracking requires the right approach: each anchor point was marked, masked with painter's tape to prevent bit walking, and pilot-drilled with a diamond-tipped tile bit at low RPM with water cooling. Once through the tile, we switched to a masonry bit to penetrate the cement backer board and reach the wood blocking behind. Heavy-duty toggle anchors and lag bolts were set into the structural backing — never relying on the tile alone for load. The soundbar bracket followed the same drilling protocol with its own dedicated anchors. A code-compliant recessed in-wall power relocation kit was installed to bridge the existing wall outlet up to behind-the-TV, eliminating any visible cord drop.
