Project Summary
An Atlanta, GA homeowner wanted their new 75-inch TV mounted high above their stacked-stone fireplace but still comfortable to watch from the couch. We installed a MantelMount pull-down bracket on the drywall chase above the mantel, allowing the TV to drop down to eye level for movie nights and tuck back up flush against the wall when not in use. Installation Details
The 75-inch TV was mounted on a MantelMount pull-down bracket secured into the drywall chase above the stacked-stone fireplace surround. Two studs were located behind the drywall and the bracket was through-bolted with the heavy-duty MantelMount hardware rated for the TV's weight class. The articulating arm allows the TV to drop down approximately 18 inches and pivot left/right for ideal seated viewing, then return flush above the mantel. All cables were concealed inside the wall cavity for a clean, wire-free finish around the white trim and crown molding.
Professional Techniques Used
Precision stud detection confirmed solid framing in the drywall chase above the stone fireplace. The MantelMount bracket was leveled and lag-bolted into both studs to safely support the 75-inch TV through its full pull-down and swivel range. The counter-balanced gas-spring arms were tuned for smooth one-handed operation. In-wall cable routing kept the HDMI and power runs completely hidden, terminating at a recessed outlet behind the mounted position. Heat clearance from the linear electric fireplace below was measured and verified before final tightening.
