85-Inch TV with Hidden Outlet and HDMI in a Canton, GA Basement Man Cave
A Canton, GA homeowner finishing out a basement man cave wanted an 85-inch TV mounted low and flat on the dark accent wall above the media console. The wall had no power where the TV needed to go, and with a deep charcoal paint color every cord would have stood out, so the job included a new recessed outlet behind the panel and a full in-wall run for the HDMI and device cables.
The 85-inch panel was centered on the accent wall and set on a fixed low-profile mount so it sits tight to the drywall, with the bottom edge kept just above the console and the soundbar. A recessed receptacle was installed inside the wall directly behind the screen so the power plug sits flush and never bows the TV off the wall. A second low-voltage opening was cut behind the media console, and the HDMI plus device cabling was fished down through the stud bay between the two openings so the streaming box, console and soundbar all connect with nothing visible on the wall.
Basement walls often carry more mechanical and electrical runs than upper floors, so the bay was scanned and probed before cutting. The mount was lag-bolted into stud body sized for the 85-inch panel weight, and because a screen that wide can span past a single stud, the plate was anchored across two studs with the centerline verified against the console. Line-voltage power was brought to the recessed outlet with a code-compliant in-wall kit and kept separate from the low-voltage HDMI run to avoid interference. The plate was laser-leveled against the crown line, service loops were left at both openings for future device swaps, and the mount was load-tested before the room was cleaned up.
The Canton basement man cave now has an 85-inch screen sitting flat against the dark accent wall with a hidden outlet behind it and every HDMI cable running inside the wall to the console below. Nothing breaks up the wall, devices are easy to swap thanks to the service loops left in place, and the install is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.
