65-Inch TV Full Motion Mounted on Brick Fireplace in Woodstock, GA Living Room

A Woodstock, GA homeowner wanted their 65-inch TV mounted on the painted white brick fireplace that anchors their living room. The chimney breast sits above a raised brick hearth and a painted mantel shelf, so the screen had to go high on the masonry — a full-motion mount was chosen so it can be pulled off the brick and tilted down to comfortable seated eye level instead of sitting locked flat and too high.

The 65-inch panel was centered on the painted brick chimney breast directly above the mantel shelf, framed by the crown molding and the window wall beside it. A full-motion articulating bracket lets the screen extend off the brick face, tilt down toward the sofa, and swivel toward the adjoining seating area, which solves the usual over-fireplace viewing-angle problem. Heat clearance above the gas log firebox was confirmed before the plate height was set, and the power and HDMI runs were routed behind the brick and mantel so nothing crosses the white masonry.

On painted brick, anchor placement matters more than anything: every hole was drilled into the solid face of the brick rather than the mortar joints, using a hammer drill and masonry bits at low speed to avoid spalling the painted surface. Heavy-duty masonry sleeve anchors were set and the full-motion plate through-bolted to a load rating well above the panel weight plus the leverage the arm generates at full extension. The plate was laser-leveled across a slightly irregular brick face with shimming where needed, cabling was fished behind the chimney breast and mantel, and the mount was cycled through its complete extension, tilt and swivel range under load before handoff.

The Woodstock living room now has a 65-inch screen anchored into solid brick with no cords running down the white masonry. The full-motion arm makes the over-fireplace height comfortable — pull it out and angle it down for game day, push it flush when the fireplace should be the focal point. Masonry-rated hardware throughout and backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.
