75-Inch Frame TV Over a Drywall Fireplace with Concealment Box in Rome, GA
A Rome, GA homeowner wanted their 75-inch Samsung Frame TV mounted above the drywall fireplace in the main living room so it reads as framed artwork when it is not in use. With light neutral walls, a white painted mantel and windows on both sides of the chimney breast, a single visible cord would have broken the effect — so the plan called for a recessed concealment box behind the screen to swallow the power and the One Connect cable completely.
The 75-inch Frame was centered on the drywall chimney breast above the mantel shelf and hung on a slim mount so the panel sits nearly flat to the wall in Art Mode. A recessed concealment box was cut into the drywall directly behind the TV, giving the in-wall receptacle and the One Connect cable a home inside the wall cavity rather than behind the panel, which is what allows the Frame to sit tight to the surface. The soundbar was set on the mantel shelf below the screen and its cable was dropped into the same cavity. Power was carried down inside the wall to an existing receptacle beside the fireplace using a code-compliant in-wall power kit.
Framing and existing wiring were scanned before any cutting so the recessed box landed in a clean bay clear of studs and firestops. The box opening was cut with a fine-tooth jab saw for a tight bezel fit, and the mount plate was lag-bolted into stud body beside the box — never into the box itself — so the full weight of the 75-inch panel rests on framing. Heat clearance above the firebox was confirmed before the plate height was set, the One Connect and soundbar runs were fished as low-voltage separate from the line-voltage kit, and the plate was laser-leveled to the mantel and ceiling lines. Art Mode was calibrated and the mount load-tested before handoff.
The Rome living room now has a 75-inch Frame TV that sits flush over the fireplace and looks like a piece of art on the wall, with the concealment box hiding every wire behind the panel and nothing visible above the mantel. The soundbar sits clean on the shelf, the fireplace stays the focal point, and the installation is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.
